WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Health insurer Cigna Corp. (CI) said Tuesday it has completed its acquisition of HealthSpring Inc., expanding its presence in the Seniors and Medicare segments. In October, Cigna agreed to buy Medicare services provider HealthSpring for $55 per share in an all-cash deal of about $3.8 billion. The acquisition adds more than one million individuals to Cigna's existing 70 million customer relationships, the company noted. Cigna said it expects to provide 2012 earnings outlook, including anticipated contributions from the acquired HealthSpring business during itss fourth quarter earnings call, scheduled for February 2.
