WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - IAC/InterActiveCorp. (IACI) said its net income for the fourth quarter plunged to $48.8 million or $0.53 per share from $87 million or $0.90 per share in the prior year. Meanwhile, adjusted net income for the quarter surged to $67.4 million or $0.70 per share from $27 million or $0.26 per share in the year-ago quarter. On average, 17 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.54 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items. Revenue for the quarter advanced to $596.9 million from $451.4 million in the previous year. Analysts anticipated revenues of $566.02 million for the quarter.
