PEKING (dpa-AFX) - VanceInfo Technologies Inc. (VIT) Tuesday said fourth-quarter profit fell to $4.9 million, or $0.11 per share, from $8.4 million, or $0.19 per share, a year ago. Adjusted earnings were $8.6 million, or $0.20 per share, in the recent quarter and $9.7 million, or $0.22 per share, in the prior-year.
Ten analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.20 per share. Analysts' estimates usually exclude special items.
Quarterly revenues jumped to $87.2 million from last year's $59.6 million, thanks to business growth in the U.S. and Greater China markets. In terms of service lines, IT Services revenues surged 64.7 percent. Nine analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated revenues of $83.59 million.
Looking ahead, the company forecast first-quarter adjusted earnings in the range of $0.14 to $0.15 per share, on revenues of at least $80 million. Analysts' consensus currently sees earnings of $0.19 per share, with revenues expected to be $75.45 million.
Further, 2012 adjusted earnings are seen to be between $0.86 and $0.92 per share, with revenues of at least $360 million. Market consensus anticipates 2012 earnings of $0.94 per share on revenues of $342.49 million.
