WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - AutoNation, Inc. (AN) said its retail new vehicle unit sales in March, as reported to the applicable automotive manufacturers, totaled 25,489, up 15% from the prior year.
Retail new vehicle unit sales in Domestic segment for the month grew 26% year-over-year to 7,991, while for Import, retail new vehicle unit sales was up 10% to 13,403 from last year. Retail new vehicle unit sales was 4,095 for Premium Luxury, up 10% from a year ago.
Further, for the first quarter, AutoNation's retail new vehicle unit sales, as reported to the applicable automotive manufacturers, increased 13%, with Domestic up 17%, Import up 12%, and Premium Luxury up 12%, in each case, as compared to the prior-year quarter.
