ATLANTA (dpa-AFX) - Southern Co. (SO) said today it is increasing its annual dividend by $0.07 per share to a rate of $1.96 per share.
The 3.7% increase marks the 11th straight year that Southern Co. has raised the dividend on its common stock.
Southern Company also announced today a regular quarterly dividend - including an increase of $0.175 per share on a quarterly basis - of $0.49 per share, payable on June 6 to shareholders of record as of May 7.
