WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Rambus Inc. (RMBS) reported that its first-quarter net loss was $27.9 million compared to net loss of $4.2 million in the first quarter of 2011. Net loss per share was $0.25 compared to net loss per share of $0.04 in the first quarter of 2011.
Non-GAAP net income in the first quarter of 2012 was $3.6 million compared to $10.2 million last year. Non-GAAP net income per share was $0.03 compared to $0.09 in the first quarter of 2011.
Total revenue was $62.86 million compared to $62.53 million in the year ago quarter.
As compared to the first quarter of 2011, revenue was up 1% primarily due to the complete allocation of Samsung's quarterly license payment to revenue since the second quarter of 2011 and revenue recognized from various new patent license agreements signed in the past year.
