WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - athenahealth, Inc. (ATHN) reported that its first-quarter GAAP net income was $2.4 million, or $0.07 per share, down from $3.3 million, or $0.09 per share, in the same period last year.
Non-GAAP Adjusted net income was $6.3 million, or $0.17 per share, compared to $5.9 million, or $0.17 per share, in the same period last year.
Total revenue for the quarter, was $96.6 million, compared to $69.9 million in the same period last year, an increase of 38%.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.17 per share on revenues of $93.62 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
