WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Homebuilders Standard Pacific Corp. (SPF) reported first-quarter net income of $8.5 million or $0.02 per share, compared to a net loss of $14.8 million or $0.04 per share last year.
Net income available to common shareholders was $4.8 million, compared to a net loss of $8.4 million the prior year.
On average, 11 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.01 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Total revenues for the quarter rose to $223.7 million from $143.7 million a year ago. Analysts expected revenues of $216.38 million for the quarter.
