WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - World Fuel Services Corp. (INT) reported first-quarter net income attributable to the company of $46.4 million or $0.65 per share, up from $41.1 million or $0.58 per share last year.
Excluding items, non-GAAP net income was $52.9 million or $0.74 per share, compared to $46.8 million or $0.66 per share in the year-ago first quarter.
On average, 5 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.63 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenue for the quarter rose to $9.5 billion from $7.1 billion a year ago.
Analysts expected revenues of $9.72 billion for the quarter.
