PEKING (dpa-AFX) - 51job Inc. (JOBS) reported that its first-quarter net income increased 31.5% to RMB120.5 million or US$19.1 million from RMB91.6 million for the same quarter in 2011. Earnings per common share for the first quarter of 2012 were RMB2.03 or US$0.32 compared with RMB1.55 for the same quarter in 2011.
Earnings per ADS for the first quarter of 2012 were RMB4.06 or US$0.64 compared with RMB3.10 in the first quarter of 2011.
Total revenues for the first quarter were RMB380.8 million or US$60.5 million, an increase of 17.3% from RMB324.5 million for the same quarter in 2011.
Excluding share-based compensation expense and loss from foreign currency translation as well as their related tax impact, non-GAAP adjusted income for the first quarter of 2012 increased 30.7% to RMB132.3 million or US$21.0 million compared with RMB101.2 million for the first quarter of 2011.
Non-GAAP adjusted earnings per ADS in the first quarter of 2012 were RMB4.46 or US$0.71 compared with RMB3.43 in the first quarter of 2011.
For the second quarter of 2012, the company expects revenue to be in the range of US$57.2 million to US$59.5 million. Non-GAAP earnings for the second quarter are expected to be in the range of US$0.60 to US$0.65 per ADS.
