ZURICH (dpa-AFX) - British engineering company Invensys Plc (ISYS.L) is the target for potential bids from industrial companies, including Siemens AG (SI), ABB Ltd. (ABB, ANN.L), Emerson Electric Co. (EMR) and General Electric Co. (GE), according to the Sunday Times. Particularly, these four companies have been repeatedly approaching Invensys with each making informal contacts through city advisers over the past few weeks, the newspaper said.
Currently, the British company has a market cap of 1.65 billion pounds, at a share price of 203 pence, but it is anticipated that a bidding war could push the price past the 2 billion pounds mark.
Invensys shares are currently trading at 211.50 pence, up 4.44% on takeover speculation.
