CANBERA (dpa-AFX) - During early Asian trading on Monday, the Australian dollar spiked up against its European, U.S. and Canadian counterparts.
The aussie advanced to 6-day highs of 1.0096 against the loonie and 0.9842 against the greenback, compared to last week's closing value of 1.0051 and 0.9754, respectively. The next upside target level for the aussie is seen at 1.015 against the loonie and 0.99 against the greenback.
Against the euro, the aussie that closed Friday's trading at 1.2837 approached 1.2780, its highest level since May 17. If the aussie rises further, it may target 1.275 level.
