PEORIA (dpa-AFX) - Mining and agricultural equipment maker Caterpillar Inc. (CAT) said in a regulatory filing that total compensation for its chief executive officer Douglas Oberhelman fell 33 percent in 2013.
Oberhelman's total compensation decreased to $14.99 million in 2013 from $22.37 million in 2012 and $16.90 million in 2011.
In line with Caterpillar's pay for performance philosophy, total direct compensation for the CEO declined 32 percent to $11.81 million from $17.39 million in 2012.
Salary grew slightly to $1.6 million from $1.56 million in 2012, while option awards dropped to $8 million from $10.78 million.
Non-equity incentive plan compensation declined to $2.24 million from $5.05 million in the previous year.
CAT closed down 0.2 percent at $102.64 on Monday.
