VENLO (dpa-AFX) - Qiagen NV (QGEN) Tuesday reported second-quarter adjusted profit of $60.9 million or $0.25 per share, up from $56.1 million or $0.24 per share in the same period last year.
On average, 17 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.25 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Adjusted sales improved 5 percent to $331.2 million from $316.4 million last year. Analysts expected sales of $330.76 million.
Adjusted net sales grew 4 percent at constant exchange rates.
Looking ahead to the third quarter, the company has forecast adjusted earnings in the range of $0.26 to $0.27 per share. Analysts currently expect third-quarter earnings of $0.27 per share.
For the full-year 2014, the company currently projects adjusted earnings in the order of $1.07 to $1.09 per share. Analysts currently expect full-year earnings of $1.09 per share.
