WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (APC) reported second-quarter net income attributable to common stockholders of $227 million or $0.45 per share, compared to $929 million or $1.83 per share for the year-ago quarter.
Excluding items, adjusted net income for the second quarter was $669 million or $1.32 per share, compared to $534 million or $1.05 per share in the prior year quarter.
Total revenues for the latest second quarter rose to $4.44 billion from $3.50 billion in the same quarter last year.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $1.30 per share on revenue of $4.14 billion for the second quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Looking forward, the company said it was raising full-year sales-volume guidance by 5 million BOE.
