WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Wisconsin Energy Corp. (WEC) Wednesday reported higher second-quarter 2014 net income of $133.0 million, or $0.58 a share, from $119.0 million, or $0.52 per share, a year ago. On average, 9 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.52 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items. According to the company, costs pertaining to Integrys Energy acquisition lowered earnings by one cent per share in this year's second quarter.
Operating revenues for the latest quarter were $1.04 billion, versus $1.01 billion last year, whereas 5 analysts estimated revenues of $1.03 billion.
