WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Akamai Technologies, Inc. (AKAM) reported second-quarter GAAP net income of $73 million, or $0.40 per share, compared to $62 million, or $0.34 per share, prior year. Non-GAAP net income for the second quarter of 2014 was $106 million, or $0.58 per share.
On average, 18 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.55 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenue was $476 million, a 26% increase over second quarter 2013 revenue of $378 million. Analysts expected revenue of $472.86 million for the quarter.
