FALLS CHURCH (dpa-AFX) - General Dynamics Corp. (GD) said Monday that, following a comprehensive review of the structure of its Information Systems and Technology business group, General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems and General Dynamics C4 Systems will be combined to create a new business unit, General Dynamics Mission Systems.
Chris Marzilli, current president of General Dynamics C4 Systems, will lead the combined organization. The company's headquarters will be in Fairfax, Virginia.
The restructuring will be effective January 2015.
General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems provides mission-related systems development, integration and operations support. The company employs about 5,700 people.
General Dynamics C4 Systems is an integrator of secure communications, information systems and technology. The company employs about 7,400 people.
