LONDON (dpa-AFX) - Rolls-Royce Holdings Plc (RYCEF.PK, RR.L, RYCEY.PK) Friday said it signed a final agreement for its 50-50 joint venture with Hispano-Suiza to design and produce accessory drive train transmissions for Rolls-Royce's civil aircraft engines.
The JV, previously announced on July 4, will cover a range of aircraft from business jets to wider body commercial jets based on on an initial exclusive 25-year contract. In particular, it will contribute to the Airbus A330neo, the company said, for which Rolls-Royce won the engine contract in July 2014.
The JV will start operations in early 2015. Rolls-Royce said a production plant will be built in a competitive country starting in 2015, with the aim of starting operations in late 2016 or early 2017.
