LONDON (dpa-AFX) - Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc (RBS, RBS.L) reported third-quarter 2014 pre-tax profit of 1.28 billion pounds, compared to loss of 634 million pounds in the comparable quarter last year. Profit attributable to ordinary and B shareholders was 896 million pounds in the quarter, compared to a loss of 828 million pounds in the prior year.
For the quarter, adjusted earnings per share from continuing operations were 7.5 pence, as against a loss of 3.9 pence, in the year-ago period.
Quarterly net interest income came in at 2.9 billion pounds, compared with 2.8 billion pounds, a year before; while non-interest income dropped year-over-year to 1.5 billion pounds, from 2.1 billion pounds.
