BERLIN (dpa-AFX) - Fashion retailer Gerry Weber International AG (GRYIF.PK) Friday in its preliminary report, said for the fourth quarter, the group's sales revenues of the retail segment rose by 5.8 percent to 110 million euros, despite a difficult market environment. However, like-for-like sales in Germany were down 1.7 percent.
The company said during the quarter, like-for-like sales of the Houses of Gerry Weber and the mono-label stores showed a much better performance compared with like-for-like sales of the German fashion market as a whole.
For the full-year period, the retail segment generated sales revenues of nearly 404 million euros, up 11 percent from 363.7 million euros reported last year. This increase was helped by the new retail stores opened this year and also by the established Houses of Gerry Weber and mono-label stores. Like-for-like sales in Germany rose by 1.9 percent.
The group's number of own retail spaces in the year increased by 78, of which 55 are located outside Germany.
