LONDON (dpa-AFX) - British American Tobacco Plc. (BATS.L, BTI) on Thursday announced certain management changes, under which the company said Des Naughton, Managing Director of Nicoventures would leave the BAT Group on February 28, 2015, for focusing on new business opportunities.
The company named Kingsley Wheaton, as Managing Director - Next Generation Products with effect from January 1, 2015. This new role will include leadership of 'tobacco heating products' which will be managed alongside the firm's emerging nicotine businesses. Kingsley has been with the company for 18 years and a member of the board since 2012. He will be succeeded as Group Corporate & Regulatory Affairs Director by Jerome Abelman, currently Assistant General Counsel - Corporate & Commercial, also with effect from January 1.
In addition, the firm said Neil Withington, Group Legal Director & General Counsel, has plans to retire as of April 30, 2015. Following his departure, the group functions will be integrated under Jerry Abelman's leadership.
