WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Harley-Davidson, Inc. (HOG) announced a slight decline in fourth quarter net income to $74.48 million from $75.41 million a year. However, earnings per share was up by a pence at $0.35, compared to $0.34 in the prior year.
On average, 18 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.34 per share on revenue of $1.06 billion. Analysts figures usually exclude special items.
Consolidated revenue increased to $1.20 billion from $1.19 billion last year.
Looking ahead to 2015, Harley-Davidson expects to ship 282,000 to 287,000 motorcycles to dealers and distributors worldwide, up 4 to 6 percent increase from last year. For the first quarter, the Company expects to ship 79,000 to 84,000 motorcycles compared to 80,682 motorcycles shipped in the year-ago period.
