WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Wisconsin Energy (WEC) reported that its net income for the fourth quarter of 2014 declined to $121.4 million or $0.53 per share from $144.3 million or $0.63 per share in the fourth quarter of 2013.
Costs related to the acquisition of Integrys Energy reduced earnings by 3 cents a share in the most recent quarter. Excluding the effect of the item, adjusted earnings for the fourth quarter of 2014 were $0.56 per share. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.56 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Operating revenues rose to $1.23 billion, from $1.18 billion in the corresponding quarter a year ago. Wall Street expected revenues of $988.79 million for the quarter.
