WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Fluor Corp. (FLR) reported fourth-quarter net earnings of $139 million or $1.37 per share, compared to $103.0 million or $1.01 per share for the year-ago quarter.
Net earnings from continuing operations for the latest quarter were $143 million or $1.41 per share, up from $103.0 million or $1.01 per share in the comparable quarter last year. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $1.10 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenue for the latest fourth quarter declined to $5.46 billion from $6.29 billion a year ago, while 20 analysts expected revenues of $5.78 billion for the fourth quarter.
Fourth quarter new awards were $6.3 billion, and ending backlog was $42.5 billion.
For 2015, the company now expects earnings in the range of $4.40 to $5.00 per share, compared to its previous range of $4.50 to $5.00 per share. Analyst now expect the company to earn $4.62 per share for the full year 2015.
