SEOUL (dpa-AFX) - South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor Co. (HYMLF.OB, HYMTF.OB) said that it recalls about 140,000 units of the Sonata midsize sedan sold in the U.S. and Canada for defects in their seat belts.
The company recalls Sonatas produced between April 25 and December 4 last year,
The recall decision was made to fix problems with the buckles for front passenger seat belts. If the buckles are forced into holders improperly, they could jam and fail to be fully fastened.
No accidents or injuries related to the seat belts have been reported. It will repair or replace defective parts free of charge, the company said.
