ECHING (dpa-AFX) - German embedded computer technology firm Kontron AG (KOTRF.PK, KOTFY.PK) CEO Rolf Schwirz, CFO Michael Boy and CTO Jens Wiegand presented the company's new strategy and future roadmap to capture the enormous growth potential of the Internet-of-Things megatrend. It held a capital markets event at its new Technology Campus in Augsburg.
Harbor Research, an internationally recognized research, technology and business development consulting firm, estimates that the embedded middleware software market alone will grow by about 30% annually and offer a revenue potential of more than $20 billion by 2017, in addition to the nearly $10billion/year ECT market Kontron is already active in.
'While we continue to have to work hard to complete our remaining internal cost reduction and efficiency initiatives, we have now implemented more than 80% of them. This has given us enough strategic freedom to develop a precise roadmap for the coming years. The middleware software space we are now moving into holds great revenue potential and attractive margins. We are ready to take this important strategic step Forward,' said Rolf Schwirz.
