WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - F5 Networks, Inc. (FFIV) reported third quarter GAAP net income of $93.2 million or $1.29 per share, compared to $79.5 million or $1.05 per share, a year ago. Excluding the impact of stock-based compensation and amortization of purchased intangible assets, non-GAAP net income was $120.2 million or $1.67 per share, for the quarter.
On average, 34 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $1.60 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenue of $483.6 million, was up 10 percent from $440.3 million in the third quarter of prior year. Analysts expected revenue of $481.35 million for the quarter.
For the quarter ending September 30, 2015, the company has set a revenue goal of $500 million to $510 million with a GAAP earnings target of $1.26 to $1.29 per share and a non-GAAP earnings target of $1.72 to $1.75 per share. Analysts expect the company to report fourth quarter earnings per share of $1.71 on revenue of $504.68 million.
