LOEWEN (dpa-AFX) - Belgian brewer Anheuser-Busch InBev NV, known as AB InBev (BUD, AHBIF.PK) reported that its profit attributable to equity holders of the company for the second-quarter declined to $1.929 billion from $2.818 billion, with earnings per share decreasing to $1.18 from $1.73 in the prior year.
Normalized profit attributable to equity holders of the company for the quarter declined to $1.984 billion from $2.614 billion in the previous year. Normalized earnings per share was $1.21 lower than last year's $1.60.
Quarterly revenue dropped to $11.05 billion from $12.20 billion in the prior year.
On an organic basis, revenue grew by 4.1% in the second-quarter 2015, with solid revenue per hl growth of 6.5%, driven by revenue management and premiumization initiatives.
On an organic basis, total volumes declined by 2.2% in the latest-quarter, with beer volumes down 2.1%, and non-beer volumes down 2.9%. The decline in beer volumes was driven mainly by difficult FIFA World Cup comparables, especially in Brazil and Europe, and challenging trading conditions in several countries, partly offset by good volume growth in Mexico and Latin America South.
