WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Ameren Corp. (AEE) Friday announced an increase in second quarter net income attributable to the company to $150 million from $149 million last year. Earnings per share were in line with last year at $0.61. On an adjusted basis, earnings were $141 million or $0.58 per share, down from $150 million or $0.62 per share a year ago.
On average, 8 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.61 per share. Analysts estimates usually exclude special items.
Revenue for the quarter declined to $1.401 billion from $1.419 billion a year ago. Wall Street was looking for $1.44 billion.
Looking ahead to the full year 2015, the company expects earnings per share in the range of $2.48 to $2.68 per share, while the previous guidance was $2.45 to $2.65 per share a year ago. The company projects full year core earnings per share in the range of $2.45 to $2.65. The Street expects $2.55 per share on revenue of $6.25 billion.
