DEARBORN (dpa-AFX) - Due to fuel tank issues, Ford has recalled 451,865 vehicles of 2010 and 2011 in North America. The models include Ford Fusions and Mercury Milan.
The company said the recalled models have a defective canister purge valve that results in a change in tank pressure. The variant pressure may result in cracks on top of the tank and fuel leak. No accidents have been reported yet, the company said.
The company has earmarked 411,205 vehicles in U.S., 33,605 in Canada, and 7055 vehicles in Mexico for the recall.
Earlier in January, the carmaker had recalled 380 thousand Ford Windstar minivans to correct cracks in the axle.
