MILPITAS (dpa-AFX) - KLA-Tencor Corp. (KLAC) reported earnings for its second quarter that rose from last year.
The company said its bottom line totaled $161.76 million, or $1.04 per share. This was higher than $112.83 million, or $0.68 per share, in last year's second quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.85 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 5.0% to $710.25 million. This was up from $676.36 million last year.
