WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - McCormick & Co. (MKC) reported a profit for its first quarter that rose compared to the same period last year.
The company said its bottom line advanced to $94.7 million, or $0.74 per share. This was up from $90.4 million, or $0.70 per share, in last year's first quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.69 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 2.0% to $1.03 billion. This was up from $1.01 billion last year.
