SUNNYVALE (dpa-AFX) - Maxim Integrated Products Inc. (MXIM) revealed a profit for its third quarter that rose compared to the same period last year.
The company said its bottom line came in at $117.66 million, or $0.41 per share. This was higher than $114.25 million, or $0.40 per share, in last year's third quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.42 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter fell 3.8% to $555.25 million. This was down from $577.26 million last year.
