WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Juniper Networks (JNPR) revealed a profit for its first quarter that climbed from last year.
The company said its bottom line rose to $142.2 million, or $0.37 per share. This was higher than $131.6 million, or $0.32 per share, in last year's first quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.38 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 2.8% to $1.10 billion. This was up from $1.07 billion last year.
