WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Frontier Communications Corp. (FTR) Tuesday reported a wider net loss for the first quarter to $186 million from $51 million in the prior year. Basic loss per share was $0.21, compared to $0.05 last year. On an adjusted basis, the company posted earnings of $14 million or $0.01.
On average, seven analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to record loss of $0.10 per share. Analysts estimates usually exclude special items.
Revenue for the quarter declined to $1.355 billion from $1.371 billion in the previous year. Wall Street expected $1.35 billion.
Looking ahead, the company expects adjusted free cash flow in the range of $800 million to $925 million.
