NEW YORK CITY (dpa-AFX) - American Express Co. (AXP) is in the process of finding innovative ways for customer interaction. The financial services company unveiled Thursday its plans for a new concept of Amex Bot, in partnership with Facebook, to keep its Card Members updated through FB Messenger.
American Express said it expects to launch a pilot Amex bot for Messenger in the coming months for eligible U.S. Consumer and OPEN Card Members who opt in to participate.
With Amex Bot, American Express Card Members could sign up to receive real-time notifications about their purchases, and important information about Card benefits and services related to those purchases. All these notifications will come down though a Facebook Messenger.
A Platinum Card Member, for example, purchasing an airline ticket from Las Vegas to New York City would receive a purchase notification in Messenger. The person may also receive a helpful reminder about accessing The Centurion Lounge at the airport, restaurant recommendations, and other related information for the upcoming trip.

The scale and flexibility of the Messenger platform makes it a powerful channel for us to explore new ways to connect with Card Members.'
