WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - As he gears up for the general election, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump announced the continued expansion of his campaign team on Tuesday.
The new hires by the Trump campaign include the appointment of Jason Miller as Senior Communications Advisor.
Miller, who previously worked on Sen. Ted Cruz', R-Tex., presidential campaign, will work with the existing team to build out a full Communications Department, the Trump campaign said.
The Trump campaign noted Miller has managed campaigns and shaped messages for successful House, Senate and gubernatorial races in addition to serving on the senior staffs of two presidential campaigns.
Former Republican National Committee communications department staff member Michael Abboud is also joining the Trump campaign as a Communications Coordinator.
The campaign said Abboud will work to execute the campaign's rapid response and daily messaging as well as provide candidate briefings on daily news and breaking stories.
Additionally, Alan Cobb has been hired to serve as the Director of Coalitions for the campaign, organizing and managing the numerous coalition groups that support Trump.
Cobb previously served in several roles for the Trump campaign, including as a Senior Advisor to the real estate tycoon.
'As we continue to work to defeat Hillary Clinton this November, I am constantly building a superior political team,' Trump said in a statement.
He added, 'After winning the most votes in the history of a Republican primary contest, we are taking our messages to the people so that we can Make American Great Again.'
The appointments are seen as part of the Trump campaign's efforts to build up its communications staff following the ouster of Corey Lewandowski as campaign manager.
