CUPERTINO (dpa-AFX) - Swedish music streaming app Spotify says that Apple has rejected an update of its iOS app.
In a letter to Apple's lawyer, Spotify said Apple rejected its update request on business model rules. The streaming company's general counsel Horacio Gutierrez noted that the latest episode raises serious concerns under both U.S. and EU competition law.
Apple is reportedly restricting third party music services on its platform. The technology giant has launched its own music service last year and has created a paid subscriber base of 15 million.
Spotify had 30 million subscribers in last March.
