LONDON (dpa-AFX) - BPO services provider Capita Group plc (CPI.L) said its board of directors has appointed Ian Powell as non-executive director and chairman designate from 1 September 2016. Powell will succeed Martin Bolland as non-executive chairman on 1 January 2017.
Bolland, who announced his intention to stand down in February 2016, will step down after six years as non-executive chairman and eight years as a non-executive director of Capita on 31 December 2016.
Until the end of June 2016, Powell was Chairman and Senior Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP UK. He was also a member of the team which leads the international network of PwC firms, a global network of professional services firms with revenues in excess of $35 billion and more than 200,000 people.
Powell also led the EMEA cluster of the PwC network, which spans over 90 territories across Europe, Middle East and Africa. He has broad financial, commercial and regulatory experience and led PwC's interactions with the UK Government and other public sector organisations.
Powell will be appointed to Capita's nomination committee on 1 September 2016 and will become Chair of this committee from 1 January 2017.
