WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, Inc. (DPS) announced a profit for its second quarter that increased from last year.
The company said its bottom line rose to $237 million, or $1.27 per share. This was up from $218 million, or $1.13 per share, in last year's second quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.20 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 2.4% to $1.70 billion. This was up from $1.66 billion last year.
