WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - State Street Corp. (STT) reported earnings for its second quarter that climbed from last year.
The company said its bottom line advanced to $582 million, or $1.46 per share. This was up from $565 million, or $1.36 per share, in last year's second quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.26 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter fell 1.5% to $2.57 billion. This was down from $2.61 billion last year.
