FALLS CHURCH (dpa-AFX) - General Dynamics Corp. (GD) revealed a profit for its second quarter that advanced from last year.
The company said its bottom line came in at $758 million, or $2.44 per share. This was up from $752 million, or $2.27 per share, in last year's second quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $2.31 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter fell 2.7% to $7.67 billion. This was down from $7.88 billion last year.
