WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated (CAKE) reported a profit for its second quarter that gained ground compared to the same period last year.
The company said its bottom line totaled $38.59 million, or $0.78 per share. This was up from $34.72 million, or $0.69 per share, in last year's second quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.71 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 5.6% to $558.86 million. This was up from $529.11 million last year.
