BETHESDA (dpa-AFX) - Lockheed Martin Corp. (LMT) revealed a profit for its third quarter that rose from last year.
The company said its bottom line climbed to $1.09 billion, or $3.61 per share. This was up from $756 million, or $2.42 per share, in last year's third quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $2.88 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 14.8% to $11.55 billion. This was up from $10.06 billion last year.
