BRUSSELS (dpa-AFX) - Swiss stocks outperformed European neighbors Monday, powered by surging Syngenta.
The Swiss Market Index was up 30.57 points, 0.38 percent, 8,157.85, trimming last week's losses.
Syngenta stock jumped 10.8 percent after the U.S. Committee on Foreign Investment cleared ChemChina's planned $43bn takeover of the Swiss agriculture company.
Swiss Sunday paper NZZ am Sonntag said Zurich Insurance could fire up to 380 managers. Shares were flat.
