ANKARA (dpa-AFX) - Turkey's trade deficit narrowed in July from prior year, the Turkish Statistical Institute reported Wednesday.
The trade shortfall narrowed notably to $4.78 billion, in line with expectations, from $7.09 billion in the prior year.
Exports dropped 11.5 percent and imports plunged 19.7 percent on a yearly basis. On a seasonally adjusted basis, exports slid 9 percent and imports by 9.2 percent from prior month.
During January to July, the trade deficit decreased to $32.7 billion from $40.4 billion in the same period of previous year.
