CUPERTINO (dpa-AFX) - US tech giant Apple Inc. (AAPL) has acquired Tuplejump Software Pvt. Ltd., an India-based machine learning startup.
Tuplejump, which was founded in 2013 by Rohit Rai and Satyaprakash Buddhavarapu and Deepak Alur, develops software technology that helps big companies to store, process and visualize huge amount of data.
According to reports, the iPhone maker bought the Hyderabad, India-based company in June. Apple had earlier bought machine learning companies Perceptio at the end of 2015 and Turi just a few months ago.
The deal was reported earlier by TechCrunch. The purchase price wasn't disclosed.
'Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans,' Apple spokesman said, according to TechCrunch.
