IRVING (dpa-AFX) - Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) revealed earnings for third quarter that decreased from last year.
The company said its bottom line declined to $2.65 billion, or $0.63 per share. This was down from $4.24 billion, or $1.01 per share, in last year's third quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.58 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter fell 12.9% to $58.68 billion. This was down from $67.34 billion last year.
