WINONA (dpa-AFX) - Fastenal Co. (FAST) revealed a profit for third quarter that decreased compared to the same period last year.
The company said its profit dropped to $126.92 million, or $0.44 per share. This was lower than $136.49 million, or $0.47 per share, in last year's third quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.45 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 1.5% to $1.01 billion. This was up from $995.25 million last year.
